Ceylon Tea Is Quite Special

Ceylon tea is quite famous among tea drinkers. It's a tea you can easily purchase and add to your kitchen tea cupboard. Once you have made a cup, you will understand why it is so special.

For starters, the island of Sri Lanka (formerly known as Ceylon) is an ideal place to grow tea. Before this was discovered, coffee was widely grown there but in 1869 a coffee fungus put an end to that and in 1867 the first tea was planted and progress has never stopped to date! The tea here is grown at elevations of between 3000 and 8000 feet - the higher the plantation, the better the quality and more expensive the tea. The climate and environment is ideal for tea and the elevations where it is grown pesticides are not used. Ceylon tea is a black tea and includes blends such as English Breakfast and Earl Grey. It is also a good tea to add fruity flavors to. There are six main tea growing areas in Sri Lanka and each have their own individual flavor and aroma. You can find out lots more information online and even purchase these wonderful teas direct from Sri Lanka.

This is a great tea to drink on special occasions – or even every occasion. Your family and friends will love it. It is often served with milk, but tastes just fine pure or with lemon.
