Green Tea Can Help With Skin Cancer

There has been much speculation lately about green tea and cancer.  There appears to be more and more evidence that the properties found in green tea, particularly polyphenols, can help ward off skin cancer. 

Skin, after all, is our largest organ, and much of it is exposed to the sun.  It's natural to want to wear skimpy t-shirts and shorts when the weather is hot and wear a bathing suit on the beach or at the local pool.  Cosmetic manufacturers tell us to wear skin care and make-up products with a high SF factor to protect our skin and that we should cover ourselves with sun blockers when exposed to the sun's rays.  People in hot countries are very aware of this.  Places like Australia monitor their skin cancer statistics closely.  In the United States, for example, it is estimated that 2006 would bring with it a million cases of skin cancer!  It is therefore very refreshing to hear another expert tell us that something as simple as green tea can help us.
